Worst Stuck Episode Ever

It finally happened.

After 441 days as a bandster, I had a horrible stuck episode in the car.

We went to lunch, and the meal just wasn’t working out well for me. The people I went with were done and I had no hope of getting anything down because my last bite was stuck in my throat, so we decided to go.

I knew that we should have stuck around the restaurant longer after a mile or so. I only had seven more miles, and elebenty billion stoplights, before we made it back to the office. But it was okay. I was going to be okay.

By the second or third stoplight, I was doing deep breathing exercises and sweating profusely, despite the full blast of the air conditioner. comeoncomeoncomeoncomeoncomeoncomeoncomeoncomeonCOMEON I yelled.

Did I mention that I was driving?

Yeah.

Long story short, I made it back to the office, parked, and spit up several mouths full of saliva and foam. Then I was able to make it to the restroom and let my body finish doing its thing.

My poor passengers.

    • I was frantically tapping away at the steering wheel, willing work to magically appear before me. It was awesome.

But I do feel better now. Hot tea does wonders for swelling.

  1. this is like an almost daily occurrence to me. I get stuck regularly. :( It sucks. I have seen more parking lots from my door being ajar and my head sticking out then I would like to admit. :(
    I know the feelings… everything U ahve described…

  2. You do make me laugh…I’ve got to the point now where choking on every mouthful is pretty normal…I don’t think about it that much, but I almost expect to say to people as I’m eating ooh I’m stuck, even though they don’t know I have a band…like it happens to everyone! Luckily so far I haven’t felt like that and not been in reach of a loo. People must just think I’m a really slow eater and suffer from a lot of wind. (hence all the burping into my hand over meals). Love your compression garments post! Couldn’t play it at the time, but got to see it tonight after following your link on your recent post. Definately smoother! I love your confidence to do the post.xx
