Lane Bryant!
I had to make a payment on my Lane Bryant credit card (hello 25% interest!!) over the weekend. When I went to the website, I noticed that they had a sale: 40% off of EVERYTHING (excluding Spanx).
Now, my bras have been too big for quite a while (you can tell in the Slimpressions video I posted in July) and I was looking forward to Labor Day sales this coming weekend so that I could maybe perhaps get a few that fit me a little better. This was my chance, and a week early!!
So I went to the nearest Lane Bryant on Sunday and asked for a tape measure.
I went from wearing a 46C before surgery to a 44B in January to a 40D now. I was swimming in the B cup, but now I need a D cup? Bra sizing is weird.
I got four of these bras. I also got two tunics (one black, one gray):
and three lacy camis (one teal, one purple, one pink):
and I ordered a pair of pants:
IN SIZE 14P because the 16A I tried on in the store was TOO BIG. And not just in the length sense!
SIZE 14!
All of the shirts I bought were size 14/16, which means that this may have been my last Lane Bryant purchase ever. Except for bras. I might still buy bras there.
HOLY SMOKES!
I haven’t really purchased any clothes since I was banded. I’ve bought a shirt or pair of jeans here and there, but I’ve mostly been wearing things that I had from my smaller days many years ago and really baggy shirts. Really, I’m still wearing tees that fit me pre-op.
It’s amazing how much more comfortable I am wearing a bra that fits. And, for the first time in a long time, I feel kind of cute. Kind of.
(Sorry I haven’t been blogging much lately. I was sick. I didn’t think I’d ever get better. Now I think I’m almost back to normal. Starting back on C25k tomorrow–is anyone still with me on this??)

I found you from Twitter and I’m following you now :)

Thanks :) I really love the colors they had for the camis! I wish the pink one were a little brighter than it is, but they’re still fun :)

ughmm doesn’t it feel awesome to have new fitting clothes!?! And when you realize the size even awesomer!?! Total confident booster! (That is until you see the 25% interest on your bill ;) )
When you figure out the magic to bra buying, please PLEASE let me know. I’m half tempted to go back to my sports bra life; just can’t dress up in those well.
So for now…. I just buy underwear… LOTS of underwear! :) They’re cheap and at least I know out of the gate if they aren’t going to work.

I was this close to having my card paid off, too! But I needed the clothes and didn’t have the cash. And the SALE!
I have so many pairs of panties, it’s ridiculous. I could probably go six weeks and never wear the same ones twice. And I haven’t purchased any this time around–they were all pairs I bought on sale years ago for “when I lost a little more weight.” At least they fit now :)
I’ve heard of an amazing lingerie store in NYC that ladies fall all over themselves to recommend, but I can’t remember the name. I think it’s fairly expensive, though…. Check Fatshionista on LiveJournal; I think that’s where I read about it!
And yeah, sports bra uniboob is kind of hard to make look nice ;)

I went to Lane Bryant for the big 40% off as well, however I just couldn’t bring myself to buy anything yet. In 3 months I have lost almost 70 pounds, I am afraid to buy it, and that it’s only going to fit for a couple weeks.
I feel the same way about bra sizing. I went from a 44C (where i was swimming in the C as well) down to a 38DD. It’s so odd, and nothing feels as comfy as your wore in bra’s, or is that just me?

I’ve worn underwires for years, and they never seem to feel better with age. But I never really knew how to take good care of them until the last few years or so.
I shop sales and buy much smaller clothes so that I have things to fit in later on. I have a drawer full of things I’ll be able to wear in another 15-20 pounds, but that’s in 2-4 months for me :)
