C25k: Week .5, Day 1

That’s right. Week .5. I’m modifying the plan to suit my needs. Instead of jogging for 60 seconds, walking for 90, I’m jogging for 30 seconds, walking for 2 mins. Next week might be Week 1 or it might be Week .75, wherein I jog for 45 seconds, walk for 105. We’ll see :)

I walked at 3.3 miles per hour and jogged at 4.5 miles per hour. The pace seemed comfortable and I even went up to 4.7 MPH on the last jogging interval. I took heart when I wanted to jog for longer than 30 seconds, which happened a few times. I limited it, though. I need to ease into it!

How’s everyone else doing?

Week .5, Day 1 C25k

I look a lot worse than I felt.

  1. Good on you…you’re beating me, I;m too scared to start. I’ve set Friday as a deadline to plan some exercise and I’ve decided that I’m going to walk too and from the train station tomorrow when I go to work and back. Gotta start somewhere and I think it’ll really pick up my mood once I get started.

    • Don’t be scared to start! Do you have your plan in place yet?

I think that walking to and from the train station is a great place to start! And then maybe walk around the block after dinner every night…and then two blocks…. Baby steps!

  2. Hi! it’s Gnomeprincess from LJ, I just wanted to let you know that I went back and read most of your blog (I did get a bit “skimmy” toward the last couple months) and i think it is awesome! I will definitely be a regular reader from here on out ;)

    • I can’t believe you only skimmed my first entries!! There’s gold in them there posts!! (Or is it “them thar posts”?)

Totally joking :) Thanks so much for taking so much time to read through my blog; I’m truly flattered. I’ve subscribed to your WordPress blog so I can keep up with you using Google Reader!

  3. Hi, new to your blog, totally understand your thoughts on exercise. If I hadn’t been a college athlete, I would not even know what to do, where to start, how to improve. And even knowing that is not enough in itself to get me on the darn elliptical daily. One thing I came across that you probably already know about but if not it may help-fitness psycho Cathe Friedrich is her name I think. I call her Cathy with an E, but sometimes I call her something much worse. LOL Anyway, I throw in 20-30 minutes of her classes (broadcast on the fitness channel) every once in a while for high cardio strength training-it basically amounts to doing circuit training, except she is beyond nutty in what she expects in her class-but hey, her legs are great so I keep doing it! Ha!

Anyway, keep it going, wishing you luck,
